Heather Kahoun is a former educator, mother of three students in the Osceola School District, and a local business owner

Heather is a lifelong resident of Kissimmee and graduated from Osceola High School, a product of our public school system from elementary school up. She attended the University of South Florida where she received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and returned to her hometown to begin her teaching career at Pleasant Hill Elementary (under the leadership of her former fourth grade teacher). Heather taught for nine years before switching careers and joining a local small business focused on marketing for other local small businesses.

In 2017, Heather realized her passion for education was still a big part of her and merged her love of education and her knowledge of marketing by joining the Osceola School District’s Community Relations team as their Social Media Specialist. For four years, and through the pandemic, Heather worked alongside a multitude of people in the district to share the message of the hard work and great accomplishments being made by students, teachers, and staff in Osceola County.

Heather started her own marketing and consultation business at the start of 2021 and works with local businesses in developing their brands and curating their messages in order to connect them with their audiences.

It was not long after making this change, Heather realized she had a desire to stay connected with the school district. She believes in the work being done in Osceola County, and decided she could best do this as becoming a leader who would work to foster quality public education for the current generation and the generations to come.

Heather's family resides in downtown Kissimmee, and her kids attend our schools with Tucker (14) starting high school at NeoCity Academy this fall and twin girls, Lilah and Lexie (12), finishing their last year at Horizon Middle.

Heyyy Heather

A proud Kowboy, Heather attended and graduated from Osceola High, class of 2003.

Heather graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.

Heather began her teaching career at Pleasant Hill Elementary, and was hired by her former 4th grade teacher, René Clayton, who was principal of Pleasant Hill at the time.

Heather joined REACH, a startup marketing agency in Kissimmee, Florida, where she excelled in training interns and new hires (once a teacher, always a teacher!)

Heather merged her love of education and her experience in marketing when hired in the district's Community Relations Department to manage the social media, helping to tell the district's story of #SDOCGoodtoGreat.

Heather launched her own consulting and marketing business, Heyyy Heather, where she works with local small businesses to help connect them with the people they need to reach in order to be successful businesses in our community.
