Learn more about Heather

Heather Kahoun is a former educator, mother of three students in the Osceola School District, and a local business owner.
Heather is a lifelong resident of Kissimmee and graduated from Osceola High School, a product of our public school system from elementary school up. She attended the University of South Florida where she received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and returned to her hometown to begin her teaching career at Pleasant Hill Elementary (under the leadership of her former fourth grade teacher). Heather taught for nine years before switching careers and joining a local small business focused on marketing for other local small businesses.
In 2017, Heather realized her passion for education was still a big part of her and merged her love of education and her knowledge of marketing by joining the Osceola School District’s Community Relations team as their Social Media Specialist. For four years, and through the pandemic, Heather worked alongside a multitude of people in the district to share the message of the hard work and great accomplishments being made by students, teachers, and staff in Osceola County.
Heather started her own marketing and consultation business at the start of 2021 and works with local businesses in developing their brands and curating their messages in order to connect them with their audiences.
It was not long after making this change, Heather realized she had a desire to stay connected with the school district. She was elected to the Osceola County School Board in November 2022 and has been a leader who works to foster quality public education for the current generation and the generations to come.

Heather's family resides in downtown Kissimmee, and her kids attend our schools with Tucker (18) graduating in May 2026 from NeoCity Academy, Lexie (16) a junior at NeoCity Academy, and Lilah (16) a junior at Professional and Technical High (PATHS).
